Ann

One of “The Girls” hybrids that flowers later than the star magnolia & thus avoids frost damage to the flower buds. Exquisite 3” to 4” blooms that are reddish purple on the outside & white on the inside. A multi-stem tree form that blooms mid spring & is slightly fragrant. A spectacular deciduous specimen or accent that reaches roughly 12 feet tall by 12 feet wide in size.

Black Tulip

This is the darkest, most dramatic tulip magnolia of any on the market, with rich, deep burgundy-red six-inch-wide blooms that appear before the foliage emerges in early spring. The small, slender, multi-branched form is outstanding for use as an elegant specimen tree, en masse to form a hedge, or as a container plant. A deciduous tree that reaches roughly 20 feet tall by 10 feet wide in size.

 

Bracken Brown Beauty

An evergreen variety. Its lustrous, leathery foliage is rich, dark green above & cinnamon brown underneath. Large, 5 to 6 inch creamy white flowers are exotically fragrant bloom in the summer. A hardier magnolia that transplants well & does not lose as many leaves as other varieties. A large, impressive specimen that reaches roughly 35 feet tall by 25 feet wide in size.

 

Burgundy Star

A stunning new variety with a distinctively upright, columnar form. Big, beautiful & lightly fragrant flowers in a gorgeous shade of claret red cover the tree in early spring. A spectacular specimen tree with a great columnar habit for modern landscapes. Reaches roughly 12 feet tall by 4 feet wide in size.

Butterflies

Considered one of the finest of all yellow-flowered magnolias, its abundant rich yellow double flowers appear mid spring. Blossoms are held upright like butterflies on a branch. Pollution tolerant, they make superb specimens in the urban landscape. Reaches roughly 15 feet tall by 12 feet wide in size.

 

Centennial Blush

A Stellata variety. Pink buds open to incredibly full & wonderfully fragrant pale pink flowers in early spring. A prolific bloomer that is well adapted to a variety of soils. Attractive medium green foliage on an interesting branching structure follows in summer, turning yellow to bronze in autumn. Can be grown as a large shrub or a small tree, perfectly suited for small urban gardens. Reaches roughly 18 feet tall by 15 feet wide in size.

Edith Bogue

An evergreen variety. This hardy PNW variety has large foliage & fragrant white flowers that bloom in the summer. Tightly pyramidal in form, Edith Bogue stands up better than others under snow and ice, and is considered one of the hardiest cultivars. Reaches roughly 30 feet tall by 20 feet wide in size.

 

Felix Jury

Magnificent 12-inch, highly fragrant hot pink flowers add exceptional beauty to the early spring landscape - as many as 100 blooms on a single mature tree each year. Its smaller stature with an upright, pyramidal form & attractive light green foliage is perfect for a small garden specimen tree or to accent larger landscapes. Reaches roughly 20 feet tall by 8 feet wide in size.

 

Genie

This small, pyramidal tree is the perfect way to bring dramatic spring blooms into a small garden. Stunning, deep maroon-purple, lightly fragrant flowers open on bare branches in early spring, holding, as the green leaves emerge, until early summer. Blooming repeats in late summer. A wonderful accent in shrub borders or next to patios. Reaches roughly 15 feet tall by 6 feet wide in size.

Jane

One of “The Girls" hybrids that has a multi stem tree form. Impressive reddish pink flowers open mid spring & avoid any potential frost damage. Flowers are a gorgeous tulip shape with a lightly scented fragrance. Leaves are dark green and somewhat leathery in appearance. Great choice for any accent, specimen or border use. Reaches roughly 15 feet tall by 15 feet wide in size.

 

Kay Parris

An evergreen variety that is a scaled down, smaller, hardy Southern Magnolia. The shiny leaves have waved margins & coppery velvet undersides. Has large, fragrant white flowers that blooms in the summer. Reaches roughly 20 feet tall by 10 feet wide.

Little Gem

An evergreen variety that is a dwarf southern magnolia with smaller dark green foliage & a very compact narrow form. The large, glossy leaves have rusty-brown undersides. A heavy producer of very attractive, large, white, fragrant blooms that arrive in summer. A naturally small tree or large shrub perfect for small gardens. Truly captivating when trained as espalier against a wall or fence. Reaches roughly 20 feet tall by 15 feet wide in size.

 

M. Soulangeana

The OG “Tulip Tree”! A beautiful lawn tree with huge, saucer-shaped, fragrant white & pink blooms on bare branches that arrive mid spring. Spectacular show on spreading, multi-trunked form. Terrific plant for landscapes. Reaches roughly 25 feet tall by 25 feet wide in size.

 

Mercury

Large striking, bright pink flowers bloom later than other varieties to avoid frost. Has nice foliage & a strong central leader with upright branching, resulting in a tree with excellent pyramidal form. Reaches roughly 25 feet tall by 15 feet wide in size.

Rose Marie

A fantastic hybrid, valued for its prolific, very late & long blooming habit. Frost-hardy buds open to large, exquisitely shaped, bright pink blooms with a lemony fragrance, providing a show for up to six weeks in spring, nearly four weeks after other varieties. Deep green foliage follows the flowers in late spring. Reaches roughly 12 feet tall by 8 feet wide in size.

 

Royal Star

A Stellata variety. An early bloomer with large, fragrant, white, double flowers appearing before the foliage emerges in spring. A springtime thriller that will add a nice touch to the landscape as the seasons progress. Useful as an open-branched, multi-trunked large shrub or as a small specimen tree. Excellent cold and heat tolerance for a magnolia. Reaches roughly 15 feet tall by 12 feet wide in size.

Sunsation

A spectacular mid spring display awaits, with 7-inch tulip-shaped blooms that blush with shades of gold & pink. Flowers are replaced with large green leaves. The narrow, upright, pyramidal form is an excellent vertical accent or shade tree for smaller landscapes. Reaches roughly 25 feet tall by 10 feet wide in size.

 

Susan

One of “The Girls” hybrids that comes on a multi-stem tree form. Produces slightly fragrant red-purple blooms in mid spring. A smaller variety that reaches roughly 12 feet tall by 12 feet wide in size.

Teddy Bear

An evergreen variety. This very compact southern magnolia features an upright form with shiny, deep green leaves that have heavy, velvety, reddish brown undersides, & classic, large 6” to 8” wide, fragrant, white flowers that bloom in summer. A superb specimen tree for smaller landscapes, or use as an accent in larger landscapes. Reaches roughly 20 feet tall by 12 feet wide in size.

 

Victoria

An evergreen variety. A hardy variety that takes full sun & will grow in heavier soils. Produces white flowers that bloom in summer & reaches roughly 30 feet tall by 20 feet wide in size.

Vulcan

Vivid, large, fragrant flowers reach up to 10” to 12”, composed of thick, heavy, brilliant magenta petals. Blooms emerge on bare stems in spring; a dense crown of green foliage that follows will add a nice touch to the summer landscape. When young, its form is erect & open branched; becomes more rounded with age. Useful as a large, multi-trunk shrub or trained as a medium-sized specimen tree. Reaches roughly 20 feet tall by 15 feet wide in size.
