Low light could be a North facing window, a shaded East facing window, dark corners in a medium light room or any other location where lighting conditions are low.

All plants need some form of light. Natural is preferred but you can supplement with grow lights. Your plants will try to acclimate with the light that is provided but most in low light will survive instead of thrive. Keep in mind for plants, Light = Food. Leggy plants, big spaces between leaves, slow growth, and loss of variegation/color are indications that the light is too dim. A reminder with lower light you will need to water less especially in winter.

Aglaonema
Low to medium light loving plants that come in many different varieties. They are also known as Chinese Evergreen & are slow-growing, attractive foliage plants. A popular, highly decorative option for a houseplant. Greener varieties can take lower light.
Boston Fern
A longtime popular houseplant that can be used in homes & offices. Has stunning, full foliage that cascade from a hanging basket & nicely fill up a space. Likes medium light, high humidity & plenty of water.
Peace Lily
Low to medium light loving plants that are also known as Spathiphyllum. They are one of the most common houseplants because they are easy to grow & beautiful. May not bloom in low light conditions, but foliage will look great.
Pothos
Also known as Epipremnum aureum, it likes bright, indirect light & they are perfect for offices & bedrooms. They are arguably one of the easiest houseplants to grow & with so many varieties to choose from, they can fit any aesthetic.
Sanseveria
Also commonly known as Mother-in-law's Tongue or Snake Plant, they are one of the most popular & hardy houseplants. Widely used as an architectural decor element with its stiff, upright leaves that range in height. They are very easy to care for, like low light conditions & have few bug issues. So easy, anyone can grow it!
ZZ Plant
A great beginner plant! Also known as Zamioculcas Zamiifolia, it can tolerate different light conditions and will grow faster the brighter the light. Base your watering off of the lighting conditions, i.e. less light = less water, medium light = medium water & lots of light = frequent water.
